
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. There, she made her professional debut and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan, then 22 years aged, was the smallest player from the nation at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final match during the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second player in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012. This made her the seventh-youngest and most prolific athlete in the world to score 20 goals in a single year. The following year, she was named U.S. Soccer Female Athlete Of The Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments, while she won the Silver Boot in 2019.
