Carey who's 5'10" tall she was a popular American fashion model. Famous designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren liked her. Her father was a renowned scientist and was recognized as the Scientist of 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Carey traveled all over because of her father's work. As she was attending the University of Colorado, Carey started modeling for a side. An agent from Ford Model Agency located in New York noticed her and was willing to assist. The model briefly studied and lived in Paris after which she returned in New York. Her modeling as well as her college career took off and she appeared on the covers of Glamour's and Vogue's and a variety of other magazines' covers. In between modeling assignments she also studied literature full time at New York University. As she studied acting in the Neighborhood Playhouse, New York, her interest in acting grew. In 1986, she got her first performance as a small part in Club Paradise, with Robin Williams. White water rafting, skiing and rock climbing are among her preferred activities.
